WELCOME BACK TO THE ROYAL OAK
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions we are only able to accept tables of up to 6 guests from the same or mixed households inside the bar and dining room areas. Larger mixed groups can be accommodated on our terrace.
Please be aware due to greatly reduced numbers pre-booking of tables is highly recommended but we will try to find you a table if we have any available. We will only be able to hold your table for 15 minutes and are allowing 2.5 hours per booking. If you are unable to keep your booking please do let us know so we can release your table for other guests
We will be asking customers to wait at the door for a member of the team to take you to your table on the terrace, and to sanitise your hands on the way into the pub. The reason for this is so we can take the time to explain how things work and to also keep an eye on the number of people we have in the pub at any one time.
Please ensure you have a mask on when you enter the pub and keep this on until you are seated at your table. You will also need to wear a mask when you are moving around the premises and when exiting at the end of your visit.
Test and Trace
In line with Government requirements we will need to collection information from all members of your party aged 16 years and over to provide to Test & Trace should we be contacted. If you do not have the Government Test & Trace App on your phone we can take your details the old fashioned way.
If you are feeling at all unwell, please save your visit for another day.
Much as we could all do with a hug, please respect yours and others personal space by maintaining a social distance where possible.
At busy times, those without prior bookings may be asked to queue and as much as we’ll try our best to get everyone a table, it may not always be possible, in order to keep everyone safe.
We have now fully covered the terrace area with heating to take the chill off. We also have a basket of blankets available should you need extra covering but we do suggest that you wrap up warmly if you are planning on sitting outside.
NO SMOKING is permitted on the terrace at present but you can exit the pub and use the tables outside the front of the pub. Please note that drinks are not allowed to be taken with you.
Ordering & Service at Table
All orders for food and drink will be taken at your table by your server. Please do not come up to the bar for service or payment.
We’ll do our upmost to keep a safe distance where possible when taking orders and serving your table.
You’ll notice some changes to the way we’re laying the tables. Menus will be delivered to your table when you are seated and will be cleaned after every use. Cutlery and napkins will be delivered to the table once you have placed your order.
Spending A Penny
You may enter the bar to use the toilet during your visit but please wear a mask whenever you are inside.
Space between Tables
We want to reassure you that care and consideration has gone into spacing the distance between the tables and positioning of the chairs. We respectfully ask that you do not move tables or chairs around as they have been positioned with thought.
We want to reassure you that there’s regular cleaning going on in the pub; all our team will be washing their hands regularly and sanitising the toilet area and other ‘touch points’ every hour. The tables will be cleaned after each customer. At every step, we’ll be following the highest of cleaning standards throughout the pub and in the kitchen.
The little touches (that are often touched a lot) – may not be quite as prevalent just now. Things like the newspapers, board games, leaflets - we’ve popped them away for the time being, we hope you understand.
Children & Dogs
Please ensure you keep your little ones and furry friends at your table with you at all times and don’t allow them to wander around.
Payment and Tips
To reduce the handling of cash we kindly ask you to use contactless wherever possible. We are not able to run separate bills for one table at this time but we are happy to accept multiple card payment if you let your server know how much you are each paying.
An optional Service charge of 10% will be added to all bills but you are welcome to ask for this to be removed if you do not feel you have received the service you expected.
